Allegations and Indictment

Former President Donald Trump has been embroiled in numerous controversies and legal battles since leaving office. In July 2021, he was indicted in New York on charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The indictment alleges that Trump conspired to submit false electoral certificates and pressure state officials to change their election results.

Civil Fraud Trial

Trump is also facing a civil fraud trial in New York, brought by the New York Attorney General. The lawsuit alleges that Trump and his family misled investors about the value of their assets to obtain favorable loans and insurance coverage. Closing oral arguments in the trial were heard on Thursday, February 23, 2023, and a verdict is pending.
